My whole reason for going to the Grand Canyon was that I had to be in Vegas for a conference. Figured it was worth taking a few days off and seeing some of the Great Southwest. So I rented a car and drove to Hoover Dam, and from there to Williams, where I spent the night. The following morning I got a super-early start and headed up to the National Park. NB: Williams being a 0 Starbucks town, it's very hard to find a cup of decent coffee there first thing in the AM. Anyway, got to the Park, bought my pass, and drove straight to Mather Point, the first overlook where you can actually see this thing you've come to see. So here's pretty much the first thing I saw.
