Grand Canyon: Strata

The Grand Canyon uniquely unites space and time. Not only does it give a fair approximation of the infinite in size, but of course just looking at it is looking down into hundreds of millions of years of history. I love how geologists refer to a layer of rock formed 260 million years ago as "fairly young." That's how old the rock at the very top of the canyon is.
