Like many other buildings around the Grand Canyon, this tower was designed by architect Mary Colter (in 1932). I got there just in time for sunset, when I took this picture, following which (as it got colder and colder) I watched the shadows grow longer in the canyon itself, and night fall across the Painted Desert in the distance.
