Gallery: Snowy New York
Bethesda Fountain, Central Park

Some words about this place are necessary. Bethesda Fountain is quite probably the most important place in my world.

Recall that old New Yorker cartoon about a New Yorker's view of the world? It's not inaccurate. But think in the other direction. Central Park is the heart of the City. And Bethesda Fountain is the heart of the Park. Or at least the heart of my park.

And so, in a very real way, this is the still hub around which my world revolves. And even someone as hopelessly agnostic as I am can take some comfort in the idea that there's an angel there, at the center of it all, benevolently keeping watch.
